Victor Guerrero


STREET CRIMES PROGRAM

Victor Guerrero has a vast array of experience. He started his career as a police officer in Compton, California. From 1971 to 1977, Guerrero was assigned to patrol, planning and research, and the detective division. In 1977, he worked for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy assigned as an undercover operator to the Narcotics Bureau.

In 1978, Guerrero became a special agent, focusing on political corruption and providing general criminal and background investigations. In 1981, he moved to New York and worked with the Terrorist Task Force assigned to fugitive investigation and Organized Crime targeting La Costa Nostra in a long-term undercover capacity.

In 1995, he was detailed to function as the elected chairman of CNOA for three years.

In 1998, Guerrero moved on to the FBI, directing an agent staff of both FBI and DEA agents, along with task force police officers from varying local law enforcement agencies. The Southwest Border Initiative is dedicated to pro-active complex investigations which target the major drug trafficking cartels in the US and Mexico.

Guerrero received his B.S. in Administration of Justice from Cal State University in 1972 and his Master’s in Public Administration from USC in 1974. He was also a counselor to 160th Session of the FBI National Academy 1990.
